The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.<br><br><strong> Documents Needed to Apply <br><br></strong><strong>Required<br><br></strong><ul><li> Resume </li><li> Cover letter <br><br></li></ul><strong> Purpose of Position <br><br></strong>Manage the efficiency of the central air conditioning control system (Facilities Control and Monitoring System). Responsible for the installation/ monitoring of central control units. Maintain temperature settings and readings. Ensure optimum system performance and energy conservation.<br><br><strong>Essential Functions<br><br></strong><ul><li>Supervises and assists with the installation on the FCMS systems to include the installation of all sensors, electrical hardware, electrical conduits and writing. </li><li>Supervises and assists with the programming of the FCMS system to include the programming of the solid state boards and creating points, design and programming of system graphics and of the preventive maintenance system.</li><li>Supervise and assist with the trouble shooting of solid-state boards, the trunk system, and all related optimization and conservation of energy within building facilities.</li><li>Provide training to personnel assigned to the FCMS systems.</li><li>Verify and the scheduling of the FCMS system for the weekend and holiday operations.</li><li>Assign work orders and track to completion.</li><li>Use of MS Office applications and time keeping software.</li><li>Oversee A/C Control Operator I’s, II’s, and III’s work performance.</li><li>Coordinate with contractors on projects.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>High school diploma or vocational school certificate with special courses in electricity, plumbing, or air conditioning, or equivalent.</li><li>Seven (7) years experience with HVAC systems, including two years supervisory and Energy Management System experience.</li><li>This position requires a Texas Class “C” Operator’s Driver’s License and three (3) years of acceptable driving history.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience in diagnosing, repairing, calibrating and making adjustments to electric, electronic and pneumatic HVAC controls using tools of trade to ensure required temperatures and humidity to all campus buildings.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Ability to use all hand and power tools common the HVAC trade.</li><li>Knowledge of MS Office.</li><li>Identifies opportunities on campus to improve efficiencies with upgrades, programming, or automation system optimization</li><li>Knowledge of Bacnet and/or Modbus protocols as well as Siemens Apogee/DESIGO CC automation system highly desirable<br><br></li></ul><strong> Work Schedule <br><br></strong><ul><li> Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 4:30pm <br><br></li></ul><strong> Working Conditions <br><br></strong><ul><li>Driving is required and an essential part of the position.</li><li>May work around chemicals.</li><li>May work around electrical and/or mechanical hazards.</li><li>May work in enclosed or tight spaces.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Benefits Information<br><br></strong><strong> <strong>Position is benefit eligible:</strong> </strong> Yes or No<br><br>We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to our employees at the University.<br><br>https://www.uta.edu/hr/employee-benefits<br><br><strong> PreEmployment Background Check <br><br></strong>It is the policy of The University of Texas at Arlington to conduct a pre employment background check on any applicant who is under final consideration for employment with the University.<br><br>This position may have access to critical infrastructure as defined by Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code.
