Our Security Guards are offered employment in a dynamic role in one of the most unique work environments that BC Ferries has to offer. This customer-facing role has the crucial responsibility of making our passengers feel safe and secure as they travel from coast to coast. The Day To Day <ul><li> Ensure the safety and security of onboard vessels</li><li> Monitoring for suspicious activity through static patrols to ensure the safety and security of passengers, staff, and assets</li><li> Responding to incidents, including disturbance, safety concerns and emergencies, while following established procedures and use-of-force guidelines where applicable.</li><li> Act as a visible and proactive security presence and deterrent to support a safe environment</li><li> Engage with the public to provide assistance, direction, and exceptional customer service</li><li> Perform security procedures including unlock/lock-up checks and routine inspections</li><li> Operate communication tools such as radios and escalate incidents as necessary</li><li> Manage high-pressure situations with professionalism, sound judgment, and a calm demeanor</li><li> Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards</li><li> Support passenger safety and satisfaction during coast-to-coast travel </li></ul>What You Bring <ul><li> BC Security License and AST is a MUST</li><li> OFA Intermediate is a MUST</li><li> Driver License and reliable personal vehicle is a MUST</li><li> Excellent communication skills</li><li> Comfortable with radio communication</li><li> Ability to write reports on job-related activities</li><li> Comfort working independently and in varying weather conditions</li><li> Punctuality and reliability</li><li> Physically capable of standing and walking for a duration of 8 hours </li></ul>Compensation <ul><li>$25/hr </li></ul>Who We Are At Securiguard we believe in living and acting by our values: R.E.A.C.H.
