Position: Operations Engineer II AMZ22764.4
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Multiple Positions Available
- Plan, design and implement complex high-volume direct-to-consumer fulfillment processes, systems and facilities for capacity expansion and continuous improvement of worldwide
- Provide technical leadership for large-scale industrial engineering projects using MS Excel, AutoCad and MS Project
- Work with complex Material Handling Systems, packaging equipment and other processing gear to design safe and efficient fulfillment processes
- Use Process Improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and/or Kaizen to analyze Fulfillment Center processes and equipment and recommend and implement
- Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for the network, including equipment specification, material flow, process
- Manage capital projects and create conceptual drawings, equipment specifications and bid documentation to facilitate a competitive bid environment
- Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with vendors or subcontractors. Inspect facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures relating to material handling,
- Develop and manage budget and contract documents including Requests for Proposals, change order controls, purchase orders and invoicing
- Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance and safety practices are followed for new and existing equipment.
- Domestic and international travel up to 80% to perform role responsibilities is required.
Basic Qualifications Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, Management or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, Management or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Experience Must Include
- 1 year of experience in project engineering, process engineering, project management, manufacturing engineering, or related
- 1 year of experience leading projects, programs or initiatives with continually increasing scope and impact.
- 1 year of operations management/distribution center experience with direct management or responsibility for material handling, automation, or other technical projects.
- 1 year of experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing.
- 1 year of experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet programs.
- 1 year of experience with design and/or implementation automation solutions, such as Conveyors, Sorters, high speed manufacturing and packaging lines, Robotic work cells.
