Auto ImportDuties The incumbent will provide advice and assistance to all Service components, DOD/DHS military, dependents, civilians, Transportation Service Providers (TSP) and commercial contractors and other transportation officers worldwide, to ensure the timely, economical and procedurally correct preparation of documents to authorize shipping and transportation services
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Planning, scheduling, and directing all personal property services, such as inbound moves, outbound moves, temporary and non-temporary storage, mobile homes, Direct Procurement Moves (DPM), boats/trailers, privately owned vehicles (POVs), personally procured moves, and one time only solicitations, within the area of responsibility.
- Conducting group, individual orientation and counseling sessions to inform customers (property owners) of traffic management matters and to determine the needs and develop the correct combination of entitlements applicable to the conditions and restrictions at the new duty station, or for discharge, retirement, or deceased personnel.
- Interpreting new or revised directives, recent regulatory decisions, and new services available to applicants to develop the system or procedures for implementation.
- Routing and booking shipments and storage using the Defense Personal Property System (DPS), Transportation Operational Personal Property Standard System (TOPS), and all new DPS phases of the Personal Property Program.
- Carrying out the needs of the outbound/inbound/non-temporary storage (NTS) services within the shipment management section of the PPSO.
- Establishing and maintaining realistic deadlines for work to ensure timely and effective service to members and dependents, as well as mission oriented program and project manager.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
